Margaret Johnson

Stunning straw silk glassware from maker Margaret Johnson.   She studied Fine Art and Sculpture at Goldsmith's College in London, teaching for a number of years before developing her own creative practice. 

She uses a unique technique involving straw silk fibres on recycled glass to create her beautiful bowls, plates, and glow pots, each of which is delicately finished with gold or silver leaf.    Through her use of colour, design and texture she is able to capture the movement and grace of shoals of fish as they shimmer through the water.
