Anne Barrell

Anne started her artistic journey by attending art classes in New York.  She then went on to study at the Chelsea College of Art & Design.

Each piece is hand thrown on her potter’s wheel in her studio and there is a definite Alfred Wallis feel to the sgraffito pieces which are then hand painted with slips and glazes to create Anne’s distinctive designs.  They evoke memories of our maritime heritage featuring merchant ships, sailing boats, fishing trawlers and all things to do with the sea and coast. 

What we love about Anne’s work is that they are both functional and decorative.  You can use the cups, mugs, bowls and vases every day or they make a wonderful display on a shelf or sideboard…you choose!
