Andrea is a lover of all things wool!

Her weaving journey stemmed from a love of textiles and a desire to produce well made and beautiful items that have a use in every day life. She works from my home studio on an 8 shaft floor loom only using natural fibres; wool, linen, cotton and silk. Inspired by the places she visits she creates ‘a sense of place’ in my work using colours and textures with yarns both commercially spun by mills and my own handspun.

In 2023 she visited Skye and stayed in the very house where the 1970 Gallery is now. I was drawn to the dramatic and ever changing landscapes of Skye and decided to create a unique collection of work specifically for the gallery of my own interpretation of the stunning Skye sunsets, the gorse and lichen walls using 100% lambswool.
